Just a little space where I can vent my warped, skewed, jacked up viewpoint on how I see this country, and the world.
Do you feel the Country is becoming more and more divided

The turn around
I think I have finally figured out the Tea Party is all about . They are afraid. The new Immigration law in Arizona finally made it clear to me. For those who don't know what this is, I'll explain. Basically the law allows law enforcement to stop ANYONE who they feel or suspect are illegally in the country. on the surface this sound like a good idea right? my problem is what criteria does law enforcement use to determine who gets checked? It's totally at the officers discression. Now I've heard people say " so what, something needs to be done" and its easy to say that if you are not part of the group in question. But this led to a greater realization. During the argument for the pros and cons of this bill, the issue of population growth and reduction was used. The population of Anglo white Americans are shrinking, and the population of non whites ( Blacks, Latinos, Asians ) are growing. The Tea party is afraid. They see themselves slowly losing the firm hold they once held in this country. The rules no longer makes any sense to them any more. They long for the good old days where everyone knew their place. That's what this movement is really all about. And this isn't something new, this feeling has been simmering under the surface for years. But I think with the election with Barack Obama as president, it brought these feelings to the surface. It's like their deepest darkest fears came to life. It reminds me of that scene in 48hrs when Eddie Murphy walked into a country western bar and said " I'm your worst nightmare, a Nigger with a badge". This is what they see and fear. and it doesn't help when you have people like Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck feeding these fears. Its one thing to disagree on how something is done or what is said. But these two take things to a whole new level. But that's a argument for a different time. My point is the fear that the Tea party and its supporters have is irrational and totally unfounded. Look lets get real OK? is society changing? yes, every society does, deal with it. does that mean be afraid ? no! There are more people at the table now, and yes you will have share power. but that's not a bad thing. This opens up new ideas and new ways of looking at things, we can learn a lot from each other. give it a chance, because lets face it, you really don't have a choice do you?
